  • Tatau: Past to Present with Keoki and Guy Aitchison

    Keoki was first exposed to the art of tattooing in 2001 by his best friend, and by 2005 the same friend had encouraged him to start his tattooing career. Without a guide, Keoki was hesitant to make this career change. However, once he gained the knowledge and understanding behind the culture of tattoos, the way he looked at tattooing evolved and his specialty became Polynesian designs. Keoki’s reputation grew quickly, and with this growth came the realization that he was touching people’s lives through his creations.

She started her apprenticeship in Singapore when she was 23 years old where she learned to come out of her shell. Millie tells us about her experiences of coming out as gay in Singapore, escaping from the rough marriage that led her to California, and her techniques on learning and growing as a tattooer.

    This show will be presented by Rob Schaal, a tattooer of 25+ years. Rob has been in the industry his entire life; born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. Rob will be talking and showing flash from Milton Zeis's shop and talking out of his "tattoo tent" that he used to do shows in all over the states.
